We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Bucharest. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a proactive approach to financial operations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Ensure BS accounts reconciled monthly
- Coordinate and complete the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.
- Ensure compliance with local fiscal/legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advise management on needed actions.
- Develop and implement efficient and effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support budget and forecasting activities and provide variances analysis.
- Lead and participate in financial audits, providing necessary documentation and responses to auditors.
- Assist with tax preparation, planning, and compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely information flow and to support overall business objectives.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
- SAP knowledge all modules or minimum GL is a must
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
