Your job at DKV Mobility? As part of a leading European B2B platform for on-the-road payment solutions, you will work in an exciting environment. Our tasks are defined by our Purpose: To drive the transition towards an efficient and sustainable future of mobility. We offer you numerous opportunities to help shape the mobility of tomorrow in a dynamic and agile environment. Our approximately 2,700 employees throughout Europe are united by a common passion: to give their best every day for our customers in more than 50 countries. True to our claim: You drive, we care. Become part of our diverse, dedicated and unique team!
Do you want to play an
active role in driving a company’s growth and turning big plans into reality?
Then join our team! You can look forward to exciting challenges, an inspiring
environment, and a work culture that combines flexibility and collaboration –
with our 60/40 hybrid model and modern offices in Ratingen as a hub for ideas.
As part of our team,
you will take on the following responsibilities:
- You lead a cross-functional team of 3–5 Data Scientists and 1–2 Engineers with full functional and technical ownership: roadmap, prioritization, day-to-day direction, and delivery.
- You set the technical standard, the working rhythm, and the quality bar. While the team is formally embedded in the Sales Data Hub for people management, you have full functional authority and they work exclusively on your portfolio and follow your priorities.
- You own the product roadmap for DKV's Sales model portfolio: NBA engine (with Churn integrated as the next development stage), Customer Lifetime Value, and adjacent use cases such as cross-/upsell logic and share-of-wallet estimation. You propose what gets built, in which order, and why.
- You operate at the intersection of data science, engineering, and business strategy: you translate GTM requirements into model and product specifications, and translate model outputs and constraints into business-actionable trade-offs for senior leadership (up to and including C-level).
- You are technically deep, so you can lead data scientists and engineers credibly: you set direction on feature engineering, model architecture, calibration, and drift detection; you challenge technical choices in design reviews; and you step into the code yourself when the situation requires it.
- You manage the model and product development backlog end-to-end. From feedback integration and feature requests to prioritization, sprint planning, and release management. You define the cadence, acceptance criteria, and quality gates.
- You drive the integration of sales models into operative systems: CRM (Dynamics 365), BI dashboards (Power BI), and downstream applications. You own the interface between model output and business workflow, in close collaboration with the Sales Data Hub on data and infrastructure topics.
- You build and own the feedback loop between field sales, CRM data, and model iteration: structuring market signals, decline reasons, and conversion patterns into systematic model improvements together with the Growth & Transformation Leads.
- You define and track the business case for each model: which model investments drive which commercial KPIs, where to prioritize feature development versus scaling versus new use cases together with the Growth & Transformation Leads.
- You build the product governance for the Sales Models portfolio: monitoring frameworks, cross-model impact analysis, documentation standards, and knowledge transfer processes that make the portfolio sustainable beyond any single person together with the Growth & Transformation Leads.
- You have 5–7 years of experience at the intersection of Data Science, AI Product Management, and Engineering, including leadership experience for Data Scientists or Data/ML Engineers.
- Ideally, you bring a combination of two of the following: a top-tier consultancy with a data science practice (BCG X, McKinsey QuantumBlack, Bain Vector), a Senior or Lead Data Scientist role with team responsibility, or an AI/ML
Product Manager role in a scale-up or tech company. - You are technically deep: Python, SQL, established ML frameworks, experience with cloud data infrastructure (Snowflake, Azure, or AWS).
- You can lead a Data Science and Engineering team credibly, set technical direction, review model code and feature
engineering choices and intervene in model logic when needed. You do not need to build
production pipelines from scratch. - Familiarity with Generative AI and agentic systems is a strong plus. We see clear potential to extend the next waves of Sales intelligence at DKV to combine classical ML with GenAI-driven workflows, and we value candidates who think about that intersection.
- You think in business cases and revenue impact, not just model accuracy. You can explain to a CCO why a specific model trade-off translates into revenue, and simultaneously explain to a Data Scientist why a theoretically weaker model might be the commercially right choice.
- You have led small cross-functional teams (3–5 people) and are comfortable with full disciplinary responsibility: hiring, coaching, performance management, and shaping career paths for Data Scientists and Engineers.
- You have experience in B2B environments with complex sales processes (ideally but not mandatory) in Fleet, Mobility, Financial Services, Payments, or comparable industries with account management logic and multi-product portfolios.
- You are a natural owner: you do not wait for someone to define the scope, the governance, or the process. You build it.
- You are fluent in German and English.
- You are willing to travel within Europe up to 1–2 times per month to work on-site with regional sales teams, attend model review sessions, and ensure that what you build actually works in the field.
- You bring genuine curiosity for both the technical depth and the commercial reality. You are equally comfortable in a model performance review and in a conversation with a truck fleet manager in Warsaw about why a recommendation did or did not make sense.
