We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mid-Level Accountant to join our team in Bucharest. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a proactive approach to financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Record journal entries and ensure accurate transaction posting
- Manage expense reports: booking, verification, and archiving
- Handle accounts payable: invoice posting, VAT checks, and documentation
- Prepare payment files and maintain prepayment schedules
- Maintain Fixed Assets Register and depreciation records
- Record and verify General Ledger entries
- Ensure correct tax treatment of expenses
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
- Update financial databases for accuracy and accessibility
- Support monthly and yearly closings
- Participate in audits and tax-related projects
- Provide guidance to colleagues on procedures and compliance
- University degree in Economics
- Minimum 4 years in accounting roles
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
- Familiarity with SAP or similar accounting software
- Fluent in English
