Your prospective job:

For our customer Airbus Defence and Space you are acting as a Propulsion and Aircraft System Health Management Engineer (m/f/d) at the location Manching.

Your responsibilities:

  • Development and in-service support of aircraft propulsion systems for various military aircraft programmes, including integration into aircraft (specification, qualification and certification), solving thermo- and fluid dynamical as well as mechanical engineering problems, and performing system analyses with handbook methods and simulation tools
  • Design, coding and maintenance of computer programs for synthesis and analysis of existing and/or future propulsion systems
  • Definition and implementation of new development processes for future systems and system-of-systems to support the integration of cross-platform diagnostic, prognostic and prescriptive functions
  • Conceiving and implementation of advanced mathematical approaches (including, but not limited to, machine-learning-based) for system identification, failure diagnosis, failure prognosis and advisory generation
  • Model-based design for physics-based simulation and condition monitoring of selected A/C General Systems with fault-insertion capabilities, and definition and evaluation of component tests to support validation and verification of condition monitoring, failure prognosis and prescription concepts
  • Continuous monitoring of available technologies and identification of technology gaps, as well as managing interfaces to related technical departments and functions (e.g. programme management, procurement, technical publications, technology management, …)

Your profile:

  • Completed studies in aerospace or a comparable qualification
  • Experience with air vehicle General Systems (e.g. ECS, Fuel System, Actuation) and ICT; experience with component and sub-system rig test preparation, execution and evaluation is mandatory
  • Good knowledge in propulsion systems, including aviation engine technology, engine performance, thermodynamics, aerodynamics and engine control
  • Good knowledge in advanced calculus, statistics and reliability engineering
  • Fluent English skills both spoken and written
  • Fluent German skills are required
