Become part of our diverse, dedicated and unique team!
Do you want to play an active role in driving a company’s growth and turning big plans into reality? Then join our team! You can look forward to exciting challenges, an inspiring environment, and a work culture that combines flexibility and collaboration – with our 60/40 hybrid model and modern offices in Ratingen as a hub for ideas. As part of our team, you will take on the following responsibilities:
- You take full responsibility for data-driven analyses and independently derive actionable recommendations to maximize business value.
- You develop and apply advanced statistical methods such as regression models, time series analyses, and ML/AI algorithms while closely collaborating with stakeholders and management; you translate analytical results into clear, compelling business insights.
- You design and maintain robust end-to-end ML pipelines (data, features, models, scoring), including testing, versioning, documentation, and establishing MLOps standards such as CI/CD, model registry, monitoring, data‑quality checks, and incident handling.
- With a focus on Credit & Risk Management, you own the SmartRisk Engine (feature strategy, training/retraining, calibration, backtesting, drift monitoring, and model explainability via SHAP/Reason Codes) and implement data-driven use cases such as loss databases, early‑warning systems, limit/exposure steering, clustering, and portfolio insights.
- You develop new cloud-based Data Science solutions—primarily in Python and SQL—to drive measurable business value; ideally, you bring knowledge in credit risk (e.g., PD, EAD, LGD, rating, IFRS 9/ECL) and experience with SAP and Power BI.
- You mentor and guide other Data Scientists, encourage innovative thinking, share updates on data & ML advancements, and actively support the professional growth of the team.
- You have several years of experience in Data Science and Machine Learning, confidently applying statistical methods, regression models, time series analyses, classical ML techniques, and modern AI algorithms.
- You are highly proficient in Python and SQL and independently develop value‑adding, cloud‑based solutions — including Generative AI use cases such as LLMs, RAG systems, and “talk‑to‑your‑data” interfaces (e.g., AI agents or chat interfaces).
- You bring solid experience in building robust end‑to‑end ML pipelines, establishing and maintaining MLOps standards such as CI/CD, model registry, monitoring, and quality checks.
- In the area of Credit & Risk Management, you take ownership of risk models such as the SmartRisk Engine (feature strategy, training, calibration, backtesting) and apply explainability methods like SHAP or Reason Codes.
- Ideally, you have domain knowledge in credit risk, including PD, EAD, LGD, rating processes, and IFRS 9, as well as experience with SAP and Power BI.
- You demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills, collaborating closely with business units, IT, and management, presenting complex analytical results clearly, and mentoring other Data Scientists to foster their growth and keep the team aligned with new trends.
